Bio:
Serena Dyer has co-authored a book with her father, Dr. Wayne Dyer, titled Don’t Die With Your Music Still In You about her experience growing up with spiritual parents (released June of 2014). The book is a daughter’s response to her father’s wisdom and provides readers a glimpse into what life was like growing up with seven brothers and sisters — and Dr. Wayne Dyer as a father. Serena is a contributor to Huffington Post, Mind Body Green and Positively Positive where she shares stories on varying subjects, including meditation, travel, the spiritual journey and life with her brothers and sisters. She regularly appears on stage with her father at Hay House events. She is also a featured speaker at spiritual, motivational and wellness events around the United States. Her subject matter covers a wide range of topics, but she always seeks to share her personal spiritual perspective in a way that encourages introspection and personal growth. While completing her master’s degree at the University of Miami, Serena was moved by startling statistics concerning the global tragedy of human trafficking. Although most of her work is done privately, Serena does add her voice to raise awareness via the charity Stop Child Trafficking. Serena currently resides in south Florida with her husband Matt.

Here are some questions from the show:
Q: I loved where you describe that you Mom named you Serena after her peaceful pregnancy, yet after you were born they had to do so major soul searching to handle your emotional behavior and sensitivities, comparable to autistic behaviors. I know from experience these challenges. Our girls have always been extra sensitive to loud noises and energy. I carry ear plugs everywhere we go for the last 10 years. Public restrooms were a huge challenge, my heart would start beating fast if they had automatic toilets and hand dryers. Was this the beginning of you getting to experience your parents unconditional love?
Q: On page 32 you talk about your friends loving to see what your parents were up to for example a séance and you learned transcendental meditation at 5. I myself was not raised with any if the spiritual tools and knowledge that we practice in our family and you share in your book. We have been raising our daughters here at home, they have never been in school, we sage often, muscle test, do angel card readings, practice EFT/tapping, chakra balancing, crystal healing and use our intuition to guide us along with my pendulum, who we call a Penjie™! You are living proof that our kids can turn out ok! Do you think you and your husband, Matt will design your family life around these practices?
Q: You talk about Abraham Hicks, I listen to them almost daily to Prana Boost myself and remember who I really am. I love your quote of Abraham, “Life isn’t happening TO you, it is responding to you.” When I first learned this, I simply shifted the blame from others to myself. How did you see the power in this knowing you have the response-ABILITY to create your life?
Q: I really enjoyed the chapter on no justified resentments. Your friend Dana, as your Dad calls her a spiritual alchemist, is just amazing and hard to believe. I know people including probably myself who have felt very justified in their anger and resentments. Is this concept getting easier for you?
Q: In our family and life, we really have focused on Mindful Language, in fact I teach this, and it is so awesome how you re-invented the term “just my luck” and people were correcting you because they are so used to hearing it used another way.
Q: Final thought, I so loved your book and I am so grateful you wrote it and shared your heart with us. Author Brene Brown speaks of having the courage to be vulnerable. Where did you find the courage to be so vulnerable and share? And after the book was released, did you experience a “vulnerability hangover?”
