A true creative artist, Julie Piatt aka “SriMati” is a plant based chef, singer songwriter, spiritual guide, and mother to four. Julie has spent decades finding the divine in all her endeavors. Living from a deep place of devotion she experiences the presence of God: the conscious eternal flame in all life experiences, the seemingly light and dark, joyous and painful.
Through embracing a plant based diet, and simultaneously embarking on a deep meditation practice, “SriMati” healed herself of a large cyst in her neck, which doctors diagnosed as an incurable ailment. This experience gave her an intimate connection to food, and proved to her the miraculous ability of the body to heal itself when supported with pure whole living foods and a connection to the soul. An ancient “humming” meditation technique that she learned from a beloved teacher carried her into the deepest chambers of her heart where a body of original songs were waiting for her to sing them into creative form, a dream she had kept hidden even from herself, since the age of 6.
Julie has traveled many paths and studied many traditions to find the DIVINE THROUGHLINE in all life. Similarly, she has created and tested countless recipes inspired from her journey , in her kitchen lab at her home in Malibu, California. From her perspective, food is nourishment for the body temple. By harnessing her unbridled creativity, she has created amazingly delicious plant based recipes that are both easy and nutritious. Her dishes are fresh and full of flavor specifically designed to nourish and nurture families. Julie co- authored the best selling JAISEED online e-cookbook along side her husband, plant-based endurance athlete, and best selling author, Rich Roll.
